Lisa Kenner

Lisa Kenner is a Los Angeles-based playwright and producer. In July 2010, Lisa was invited to participate in The Kennedy Center Summer Playwriting Intensive in Washington, D.C. Her play Chambers received a public reading as part of The Playwrights Union Festival of New Work in May 2010. Chambers will be produced by the Mad Scene Theatre Company in 2011, where she is currently the Playwright in Residence. Lisa's play Shelter was in consideration for the 2009 PlayPenn New Play Conference. Her work has been presented at The Road Theatre Company, The Robey Theatre Company, Theatre of NOTE, and The Victory Theatre Center, among other venues. Lisa’s short play A Terminal Affair has been produced in several 10-minute play festivals in Southern California. Other short plays, Have I Told You Lately and The Ring, were developed into short films and produced by the National University Digital Cinema Program. As a producer, Lisa has worked on numerous award-winning shows. In June 2010, she co-produced Theatre of NOTE’s award-winning programming as part of the first annual Hollywood Fringe Festival. In addition to being a proud member of The Playwrights Union, Lisa is also a member of The Robey Theatre Company Playwrights Lab, and Theatre of NOTE. A graduate of Wesleyan University and native of Boston, Lisa lives in Eagle Rock with her husband, actor Chet Grissom.
