In November 2002, Pulitzer prize-winner Suzan-Lori Parks committed to writing a play per day for the following year. The world premiere of this play cycle is a year-long theatre festival performed simultaneously around the country.

Each participating theater group performs a week’s worth of plays -- one or more of the three “constants” (plays everyone must perform), plus several they choose from Parks’ 365 pieces.

For their part in 365 Days/365 Plays, The Mad Scene will juxtapose the plays’ themes of war with the glamor, seductiveness and ugliness of Hollywood. Directed by Hutchins Foster, Stephanie Manglaras and Bart Petty, the pieces will be performed at Son of Semele May 10, 11 and 12 at 7:00pm. Each evening will culminate in a party to celebrate Suzan-Lori Parks’ May 10 birthday and the half-way point of 365 Days/365 Plays. Please join us for this exciting evening of theatre... and cake!
